Pharmacists’ (External) Examination – October 2026
- Examination notice – The Pharmacists’ (External) examination for Pharmacist apprentices who have completed twenty months of apprenticeship will be held on October 24, 2026.
- Eligibility – Only apprentices who have completed twenty months of full-time apprenticeship by October 24, 2026, are eligible to apply for this examination. The pharmacist under whom you have trained should not be in full-time employment either in a government or non-government organization.
- Examination progress – The examination comprises of Part I (written) & Part II (OSPE & viva voce). The written exam will be conducted on the date indicated above. Candidates who pass Part I must enter a 4-month training program, which includes practical placement at a regulated community pharmacy and a taught component, with mandatory 80% attendance. Upon successful completion of this program candidates become eligible to sit for Part II. Successful completion of Part II qualifies the candidate for the certificate of Efficiency awarded to External Pharmacist Apprentice
- Application – Only online applications via CMCC website cmcc.lk will be entertained. Applications that are incomplete or contain inaccuracies will be rejected without the possibility of a refund.
Theory paper examination fees – The Examination fee of Rs. 15,000/- should be paid at any People’s Bank Branch in favor of Ceylon Medical College Council, People’s Bank/Townhall Branch A/C No 167-1-001-2-0020892.
The following documents must be submitted by hand on the first day of the exam
- The original bank receipt of the payment of Rs 15,000/=. (Name of the applicant and index no should be written on the top left-hand corner of the receipt). No refund of fees will be made.
- Candidates sitting the examination for the first time should submit the original Indenture Form.
- Other candidates should submit a photocopy of the Indenture Form.
- Copy of the NIC/Passport/Driving License
- All applicants should download the admission card from the website
Eligible candidates may submit their applications for the examination through the online portal starting from 18th August, 2026. Applications must be submitted on or before August 28, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered. Application sent through ordinary or registered post will not be accepted.
