After much consideration of the practical issues raised by various stakeholders, the Ceylon Medical College Council has decided to allow successful candidaes of the written component of the External Pharmacy Examination held in January 2026 to continue their mandatory 4 months training at their existing workplaces (pharmacies) under their Master Pharmacist.
Accordingly, organizations will be able to retain their employees on the condition that they provide the cooperation and support necessary for the proper evaluation of the training period completed by the respective candidate(s) the respective organization.
Organizations are also required to grant Saturday as a day off for these candidates to engage in relevant academic activities and attend lectures.
Further details, including the code of conduct to be adhered to be employers and trainees, will be communicated in due course
